Aiguestortes Flower

Posted by Ahraht (Loures, Portugal) on 24 January 2007 in Plants & Nature.

Aiguestortes is the catalan for wild waters. It´s a Pyrenees National Park and the only in Catalunya, Spain. The word comes from the water ponds - estanys - that remain for what was once a glacier, more than a thousand ponds and lakes are in the park area. This is a typical high mountain photo, and flower, taken during the seven day crossing (on foot) of that immense mountain territory of northern Spain.
